Acquisition records

In addition to cataloguing object records, eHive also supports the tracking of detailed acquisition information in a separate file.

This means you have two options for recording how an item came to be in your collection:

Object record acquisition fields

The Acquisition tab of the Create screen has several fields that cater for acquisition information. For example, the General Notes field can be used to record a summary of the acquisition. There are also fields for recording provenance and valuation details.

Acquisition Records

Acquisition records are distinct records that can be used to document how an item or group of items came to be in your collection. These can exist as standalone records or they can be linked to one or more relevant object records.
