eHive’s WordPress plugins let you build your own branded websites that display account and object information from eHive. We’ve been steadily updating our WordPress plugins since we launched the beta version in November 2012.
How to access the WordPress Plugins
The plugins have now had a general release and are available through the WordPress.org website:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=ehive
There are several advantages of making them available through WordPress.org:
- As we release new updates, the admin section of your WordPress will notify you of the update and give you an option to upgrade to the latest version
- The source code of the plugins is available for developers wanting to build plugins for alternative platforms
- The WordPress site provides statistics and ratings from the WordPress community on each plugin
eHive sites developed with WordPress
This year has also seen new websites launched which are based on the plugins. These include:
- The Fan Museum, London: https://www.thefanmuseum.org.uk/collections/
- The Benalla Art Gallery, Benalla, Australia: https://benallaartgallery.com.au/benallacollection/
- Eden Camp Modern History Museum, North Yorkshire, UK: https://edencamp.co.uk/digital-archive/
